About the organisation
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India is the constitutional authority that audits the accounts of the Union and the States. Its Headquarters and field offices handle public finance, performance audits, and related research.
This internship places students inside functional wings so they see how audit work is organised. It is not a route to a permanent post in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department.
Nature of the role
Interns work on assignments given by the wing they are mapped to. Areas include Law, Public Finances, Data Management, Taxes, Infrastructure, and others listed in the circular. You bring your own laptop. CAG provides workspace and internet.
Who can apply
- Undergraduate students who have completed or appeared in second-year or fourth-semester exams and have at least 80% or equivalent in Class 12.
- Postgraduate or research students who have completed or appeared in first-year or second-semester exams and have at least 60% in graduation.
- Students who have just finished graduation or PG and are waiting for higher studies, if they have 60% cumulative marks and the gap from result declaration to internship start is not more than six months.
- Indian or foreign recognised institutions. Select Law as the area of interest on the form if that is your stream.
Who should skip
- Anyone who needs a stipend. The circular states the internship is on an unpaid basis.
- Students below the printed marks thresholds.
- Those who have already applied twice in the current financial year. The limit is two applications per financial year.
