What The Jute Corporation of India Limited does
The Jute Corporation of India Limited (JCI) was set up in 1971 under the Companies Act, 1956. It is a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Textiles. Its main work is to provide minimum support price to jute cultivators and handle commercial trading in raw jute and allied products.
JCI has presence in six principal jute-producing states: West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Tripura, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. This recruitment is for a regular executive post of Deputy Manager (Law) at E2 grade.
What kind of role this is
This is a regular (permanent) executive post on the IDA pay scale. It is not a contractual engagement. The selected candidate will handle legal work of the Corporation, including contracts, labour and arbitration matters, drafting of agreements and service regulations. Posting can be at Head Office in Kolkata or as decided by JCI.

- You hold a 3-year full-time LL.B or 5-year integrated BA LL.B / B.Sc LL.B recognised by the Bar Council of India from a recognised Indian university/institute, with at least 60% marks.
- You have minimum 5 years post-qualification experience as a practising advocate (eligible to enrol or enrolled with State Bar Council / Bar Council of India, and AIBE as applicable) or in a reputed organisation, conversant with Contract Act, labour arbitration, drafting of agreements/conveyance deeds and service regulations.
- You are an Indian citizen and meet the age limit of 35 years as on 30 September 2026.
- You can arrange a Demand Draft of Rs 500 (if not exempt) and send the application by Speed Post only.

Selection
