What Indian Institute of Foreign Trade actually does
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It was set up in 1963. It runs education, training and research programmes in international business. The Delhi campus is at B-21, Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi 110016. The Legal Officer post is for the New Delhi campus.
What kind of role this is
This is a contract engagement, not a permanent cadre post. Initial tenure is one year. It may be extended based on performance, but total engagement cannot exceed four years. The selected person works on the New Delhi campus. There is no bond printed in the notice.
Who should apply — and who should skip
Apply if you hold an LLB degree plus a post-graduation with 55% marks or equivalent CGPA, and you have at least five years of experience in a similar legal position in a higher educational institute or an institute of repute. Extensive experience in handling legal matters in Government Organisations / Government Undertakings / PSUs / Central or State Government Offices / Autonomous Body / University / Educational Institution, including matters relating to Service Laws, Labour Laws & Codes, Land Laws, legal drafting, vetting of documents, and liaison and coordination with offices and other statutory authorities. Command over English; proficiency in Hindi is preferred. Working knowledge of computer applications and packages.
