Nature of the role
This is a fixed-term employment contract, not a permanent cadre post. The initial period is one year. It can be extended for another two years (maximum three years total) based on performance and functional requirement. No HRA is admissible. Other benefits follow the new labour codes. The person cannot take any other assignment during the engagement. Paid leave of 1.5 days per month may be allowed. The candidate must sign a non-disclosure agreement. The contract can be ended with 30 days written notice.

Skip if you do not have three years of post-qualification experience by the closing date, or if your law degree is not from a Bar Council approved institution. Fresh law graduates without the required experience need not apply.

Selection stages
Selection is through a process of written test and/or interview, or interview only, at the discretion of GIL depending on the number of applications. Candidates may be assessed on qualifications, experiences, positions held, accreditation and achievements. Academic achievements/written and experience generally carry 50% weightage, with interview. Minimum qualification marks are 50% in each part (academic/experience qualification/written and interview). Suitability recommendation from the interview committee can preside over the marking system. Mere fulfilment of eligibility does not confirm selection. GIL may cancel or modify the notification without assigning any reason.
