What the Directorate of Enforcement actually does
The Directorate of Enforcement works under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. It investigates and prosecutes cases under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and handles foreign-exchange law work. An Assistant Legal Adviser advises field offices, drafts prosecution papers and appears before the adjudicating authority, the appellate tribunal and related forums.
This is a government-officer deputation, not an open LL.B. campus form. A student who is not already in a Level-10 or analogous post cannot use this window.
What kind of role this enforcement directorate assistant legal adviser 2026 seat is
Deputation, including short-term contract, or absorption. Pay is Level 11 of the pay matrix, Rs 67,700–2,08,700. Officers already working in the Directorate as Assistant Legal Adviser are currently entitled to a special incentive allowance of 20 percent of basic pay. Terms follow the Department of Personnel and Training deputation orders. The deputation period, including time already spent on deputation in the same or another Central Government organisation, shall ordinarily not exceed four years. An officer posted to one location can be transferred under the Directorate transfer policy. Only Central Government, State Government or Union Territory officers are eligible for absorption.
