What Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission actually does
DERC sets electricity tariffs and hears regulatory disputes for Delhi. It is a statutory commission, not a private power company. The legal wing drafts orders, checks contracts and handles cases that come to the Commission.
A Class 12 student can read this page to see how a regulator hires lawyers. You cannot apply yet. Every seat here is deputation. Deputation means a person who already works in government, a PSU, a statutory body or a judicial body is moved to DERC for a period. Fresh law graduates do not fill these three seats through a campus form.
What kind of role these DERC law posts recruitment 2026 seats are
All three posts are Group A legal posts in New Delhi, filled on deputation. The office is Viniyamak Bhawan, C-Block, Shivalik, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi 110017. The notice does not print a bond. Officers in Central or State or UT service, or in an autonomous, statutory or judicial body, PSU or corporation, must bring a no-objection certificate at the interview if it was not uploaded earlier.
Who should apply — and who should skip
Apply if you have a law degree from a recognised university or law school and you already hold the service years printed for that post. The age cap for a deputationist is 56 years on the last date of submission.
Skip if you are a student, if you are in private practice with no parent-cadre post of the level asked, or if you cannot get a cadre no-objection. Do not pay a fee to a third-party site. No application fee is printed on this notice.

- Pick the post whose level you actually hold. A Level-11 officer should not file for Executive Director.
