Added on 14 Oct 2026 by AAG Legal

What the notice says

Delhi Jal Board Law Officer (Water) 2026 is a deputation circular of Delhi Jal Board, listed on the Board notices page on 21 September 2026. The circular date used by the notice is 17 September 2026. Last date — 17 October 2026 (30 days from the date of issue). Apply through the parent office. Detailed notice — delhijalboard.delhi.gov.in Law Officer PDF. The notices list is on delhijalboard.delhi.gov.in/notices.

What Delhi Jal Board actually does

Delhi Jal Board supplies drinking water and runs sewerage in Delhi. It is a government body under the Government of NCT of Delhi. The Law Officer (Water) sits in that legal work, not in a court as a judge.

If you are in Class 12, or in the first year of law, this post is not open to you yet. It asks for a law degree and several years of legal work, and it is filled by deputation. Deputation means an officer who already has a government or judicial job is lent to Delhi Jal Board for a fixed time. You do not apply as a fresh graduate on a public exam form.

What kind of role this Delhi Jal Board Law Officer (Water) 2026 post is

This is one Group post on deputation, not a permanent direct-recruit seat. Place of posting is Delhi Jal Board, Delhi. The period printed is initially one year, or until the post is filled on a regular basis, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The period of deputation, including time already spent on deputation in another ex-cadre post just before this one, shall ordinarily not exceed four years.

Pay is Level-12 of the pay matrix, Rs 78,800–2,09,200. That is the basic pay band. Dearness allowance and other allowances follow government rules for the level. It is not a stipend.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if you already hold an analogous post on a regular basis in your parent cadre, or you have five years of regular service in Level-11 (or equivalent), or you are a member of a State Judicial Service with ten years of regular service. You also need one of the two law routes below.

Skip if you are still in college, if you have a law degree but no parent-cadre post, or if you only want a direct written exam. Departmental officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion are not eligible for this deputation. A person already on deputation is not eligible to be considered for promotion into this post. Do not pay any agent. No application fee is printed on this circular.
