What the notice says
UIDAI legal internship is open under the scheme UIDAI still hosts. The PDF is titled Internship Policy, 2025. That year is the name of the file, not a batch that closed in 2025. UIDAI uploaded this same PDF on 1 May 2026. The internship page was published on 11 May 2026 and last updated on 30 June 2026. No Internship Policy, 2026 has replaced it. Apply on uidai.gov.in/en/internship-policy. Policy PDF — Internship Policy, 2025. Covering mail on the circular is dir.hr-hq@uidai.net.in.

Do not read 2025 as a closed batch
The circular is HQ-12058/1/2020-HR-HQ, I/44121/2025, dated May 2025, subject Internship Policy, 2025. UIDAI has not printed a last date on it. Clause 7 says apply online when a window is notified, or send a CV and documents by email to the office in Annexure-E. A student reading this in October 2026 uses this file. Skip only if UIDAI later puts a newer policy on that page.
What this internship is, in plain words
An internship here means you work with an officer for a fixed period and learn how that office actually runs. It is not a job. UIDAI will not treat it as a promise of a later post. For a law student, the useful part is seeing how a statute is used every day: enrolment, authentication, and the rules that sit around identity data.
What UIDAI actually does
UIDAI is a statutory authority under the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016. It was established on 12 July 2016 under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. It handles Aadhaar enrolment and authentication, the Aadhaar life cycle, and the security of identity information and authentication records.
The policy says interns get exposure to technology tracks and other units at Head Office, the Technology Centre, and Regional Offices. Printed legal domains include cyber laws and the IT Act, along with application development and general management.
What kind of seat this is
This is a stipend internship, not a salaried post. Length is at least six weeks and not more than 12 months. Place of work is the Technology Centre, Bengaluru, a Regional Office, a State Office, or UIDAI Head Office, Gole Market, New Delhi. You arrange your own stay and travel. Basic lodging at the Technology Centre can be offered on payment. You bring your own laptop. A desktop inside the office is only if the concerned Deputy Director General allows it for a technical task. Internet access is at the supervisor’s discretion and under UIDAI’s information-security policy.
Who should apply — and who should skip
Apply if you are an Indian citizen, a bona fide student of a recognised university in India or abroad, and you have at least 60 percent marks (GPA average 6.0 out of 10) in all prior semester exams. On the legal track the policy puts law under “other fields”. A law graduate can apply if you have appeared in the final exam, or you finished graduation within the last six months. A law postgraduate can apply if you have appeared in the final exam, finished the postgraduate degree within six months, or appeared in the term-end exams of the first year or second semester. A PhD or research student needs registration at a recognised Indian institution and a recommendation from the supervisor. The gap between result month and internship start must not cross six months. Example printed in the policy: a June result can be used for an internship beginning up to December.
Skip if you are still in the first or second year of a five-year law course and have not reached the graduate rule above, if your marks are below 60 percent, if a website asks you to pay a “UIDAI intern fee”, or if you cannot bring a laptop and stay in the city of the office. Also skip a page that calls this a 2025-only drive that has ended. UIDAI does not sell seats.

Eligibility criteria
Indian citizen. Minimum 60 percent or GPA 6.0/10 in all prior semesters. Legal track: appeared in the final exam, or completed graduation within six months; postgraduate legal track also covers first-year term-end exams. Institution must sponsor or forward the form if you are still enrolled. Pass-outs do not need an NOC. NOC from Head of Department or Principal may be asked before the offer, and the original NOC plus original documents are checked on joining. A mismatch cancels the offer. No other internship that needs class attendance during the same period.
No category-wise vacancy split is printed on this notice.
Office caps printed for a calendar year: each Head Office division 4; each Regional Office 5; Technology Centre 30; each State Office 2. These caps are for all streams, not a law-only count.

- A committee may screen and may hold a personal or virtual interview. No TA/DA for that interview.
- The DDG’s decision on suitability is final.
- You sign an undertaking before you start, keep documents confidential, and submit a project report plus a No Demand Certificate at the end.
- Certificate is issued only if assigned work is done and the reporting officer recommends it.

FAQs
Why does the PDF say 2025?
That is the file name: Internship Policy, 2025, circular dated May 2025. UIDAI still links it from the internship page updated in 2026. It is not a notice that applications closed in 2025.
What is the last date?
Not printed. Apply when UIDAI notifies a window, or email as clause 7 allows.
Who can apply?
Indian citizens with 60 percent in prior semesters. Law sits in “other fields”: final-year or recent law graduates, and law postgraduates as printed in clause 4.1.
How many vacancies?
No law-only total. Caps are 4 per Head Office division, 5 per Regional Office, 30 at the Technology Centre, and 2 per State Office, per calendar year.
Where do I apply?
uidai.gov.in/en/internship-policy. PDF: Internship Policy, 2025.
What is the fee?
No application fee is printed. Stipend for a law graduate is Rs 20,000 a month; for a law postgraduate, Rs 30,000 a month, after a satisfactory Director-level report.
Can first-year law students apply?
The legal track asks for a graduate who has appeared in the final exam, or a postgraduate on the printed year rules. A first-year five-year student does not meet that line.
