What the National Green Tribunal actually does
The National Green Tribunal hears cases on the environment. It is not a ministry desk and not a law-firm internship. Students on this scheme read environmental law and file a research paper. A guide is assigned. A certificate comes after the paper or the work is assessed.
The scheme page says summer internships are ordinarily in March, April, May and July, and winter internships are ordinarily in November, December and January. The programmes named are for LL.B., LL.M., environmental studies and research students.
What kind of seat this NGT internship 2026 is
It is an unpaid internship at the Principal Bench side of the process. Address for the application is Faridkot House, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi 110001. The scheme page says the Tribunal pays no remuneration and no expenses. No bond is printed. The number of slots is decided by the Competent Authority. A fixed vacancy total is not printed.
Who should apply — and who should skip
Apply for the summer window if you are a student of a three-year or five-year law degree course in environmental studies or law, from a recognised college, law school or university in India. The scheme heading also names LL.M. and environmental-studies research students. You must be able to send the form by 1 February 2027.
Skip if you wanted the winter 2026 batch. That last date was 1 October 2026. Also skip if you cannot work without a stipend, or if a site asks you to pay a “NGT registration fee”. No fee is printed.
