NCW internship Jan–Mar 2027 — apply by 10 December

National Commission for Women (NCW)

Added on 4 Oct 2026 by AAG Legal

What the notice says

NCW internship January March 2027 follows the revised guidelines issued by the National Commission for Women on 4 August 2026, File No. 01/05004/2/2021-NCW (A). The portal on ncw.gov.in stays open through the year. For the January–March 2027 quarter the cut-off is the 10th of the preceding month, which is 10 December 2026. The order itself is here: NCW internship guidelines PDF, 4 August 2026. The October–December 2026 quarter already had its cut-off on 10 September 2026, so do not treat that block as open.

What the National Commission for Women actually does

NCW was set up under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990. The 4 August order says its work includes reviewing legal safeguards for women, recommending changes, taking up grievances, and advising the government on policy that affects women. Interns are taken so students see that file work, not so the Commission can hire them later. The office address on the order is Plot No. 21, Jasola Institutional Area, New Delhi 110025.

If you are not selected for one quarter, you apply again for the next. A previous rejection does not carry forward.

What kind of seat this is

Three schemes sit in the same order. Scheme A is 30 days in person, stipend ₹5,000 for the period. Scheme B is two months in person, stipend ₹10,000 per month. Scheme C is virtual, 30 days, stipend ₹2,000. No TA, no DA, and no accommodation on any scheme. You bring your own laptop. Physical interns need at least 90 percent attendance. You keep a daily diary. A certificate comes only after you submit the paper or report and it is evaluated as satisfactory. Work you produce belongs to NCW. You are not an employee. Stipend is not paid if you work less than the scheme period, if the work is not satisfactory, or if you break the terms.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply for Scheme A if you are in the first year of a 3-year LL.B., or the third year of a 5-year LL.B., or the first year of a postgraduate course in Sociology, Social Work, Women Studies or Gender Studies, and you have at least 60 percent from Class XII onwards in each semester.

Apply for Scheme B if you are in the second year of a 3-year LL.B., or the fourth or fifth year of BA LL.B., BBA LL.B. or B.Sc. LL.B., or the second year of a postgraduate course in Social Sciences, Social Work, Women Studies, Gender Studies or Psychology (including Clinical, Counselling or Applied), or you are in LLM, M.Phil or Ph.D., with the same 60 percent rule.

Scheme C uses the eligibility of Scheme A or Scheme B. It is the virtual block.

Skip if any semester from Class XII is below 60 percent, if you wanted the October–December 2026 quarter (that cut-off has passed), if you cannot keep 90 percent attendance on a physical scheme, or if a page asks for a fee. The order does not print a fixed seat count. The Chairperson decides how many interns are taken, and can relax a condition on merits.

How to prepare (free, official)

  • Revised guidelines, 4 August 2026
  • NCW website for the internship proforma
  • National Commission for Women Act, 1990, on the India Code site, if you want the statute behind the office before you write the statement of purpose

How to apply without getting played

  1. Use only ncw.gov.in. The order spells the portal as the Commission site. Do not pay an agent.
  2. Pick January–March 2027 if you are applying after 10 September 2026. October–December is past the cut-off.
  3. Upload the recommendation letter and the statement of purpose. Keep mark-sheets that show 60 percent in each semester from Class XII.
  4. Submit by 10 December 2026 for that quarter. Save the acknowledgement.
