Added on 28 Sep 2026 by AAG Legal

What the notice says

IIIDEM election law internship 2026 is the Internship Programme at the School of Electoral Law, India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management, Delhi. The notice does not print a last date or an advertisement number. Duration is 4 to 6 weeks (tentative). Mode is offline. Stipend printed is Rs 8,000. Send a CV, a statement of purpose of 300 to 500 words, and a writing sample to head-hr-iiidem@eci.gov.in. Notice PDF — iiidem.eci.gov.in.

What this internship is, in plain words

Election law is the set of rules on who can vote, who can contest, how parties are regulated, and how the Election Commission runs a poll. This internship is a short research seat at the Commission’s own training institute. You are not joining as an election officer. You read statutes, summarise cases, and help revise training material. A certificate comes only if the allotted work is finished.

What IIIDEM actually does

IIIDEM was set up in June 2011 by the Election Commission of India as a centre for electoral training, research and capacity building. It works under the direct supervision of the Commission from its campus in Dwarka, New Delhi. The School of Electoral Law notice says the internship is on election law, constitutional law and democratic governance.

What kind of seat this is

Offline, at the Dwarka campus. Length on the notice is 4 to 6 weeks, marked tentative. Stipend is Rs 8,000. The notice does not print a bond, a city allowance, or a hostel. Treat stay and local travel as your cost unless a later mail from IIIDEM says otherwise. Work is under academic supervision.

Who should apply — and who should skip

Apply if you are an undergraduate law student, or a postgraduate student in law, public policy or a related area, and you can sit in Dwarka for the weeks they allot. The notice prefers students who can show interest in constitutional and administrative law, election laws, public policy, or legal research.

Skip if you cannot be in Delhi, if you need a fixed joining date the PDF does not give, or if a page asks you to pay for an “ECI internship slot”. No fee is printed. Do not send the file to a Gmail address that is not on the PDF.
