What the notice says

FSSAI legal internship Oct Dec 2026 is the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India quarter starting October–December 2026. Last date to submit the online form — 1 October 2026. Apply only on sites.fssai.gov.in/internship. Circular PDF — sites.fssai.gov.in/internship/files/advertisement.pdf.
A short note before the tables. FSSAI is not a court chamber and not a law firm. It writes and enforces food standards under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. A law intern here reads regulations, notices, enforcement files and lab-linked paper — not a Supreme Court brief.
What FSSAI actually does
FSSAI sets science-based standards for food sold in India and watches manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import. Headquarters is in New Delhi. Interns are also placed in regional offices and laboratories. The Oct–Dec 2026 circular lists several degree streams. Law is one of them: Bachelor/Master of Law.
What kind of seat this is
This is a time-bound internship, not a job and not a retainer. Duration on the scheme is 2 to 6 months. Internships shorter than 2 months are not offered. Mode is on-site at the office or lab you are allotted. Boarding and lodging are not paid by FSSAI. Carry your own stay plan for Delhi or the regional city.
Who should apply — and who should skip
Apply if you are a current full-time student of Bachelor or Master of Law at a recognised institute, can sit in the allotted FSSAI office for at least two months, and can upload the form before 1 October 2026.
Skip if you have already completed the listed course (the circular says completed students need not apply), if you cannot relocate, if you want a court-only internship, or if a WhatsApp page asks you to pay a “processing fee”. FSSAI prints no application fee.
