What the notice says
DPIIT legal internship 2026 stays open until 31 October 2026 for internships that run in November, December or January 2027. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (Ministry of Commerce and Industry) pays ₹10,000 per month after the division confirms satisfactory work. About the organisation
DPIIT looks after industrial policy, internal trade and several start-up and scheme files. Interns are attached to divisions and work on notes, files and short papers that can include legal angles. This is not a court internship, not a PSU recruitment and not the PM Internship Scheme.
Who applies and who should skip
Apply if you are at least 18, currently enrolled in graduation, post-graduation or research in Law, Engineering, Management, Economics, Finance, Computers or Library Management, and can stay in New Delhi for the months you choose. Other disciplines are considered only if a division specifically needs them. Final-year students who are still enrolled can apply. Skip if you have already finished the course and are not enrolled, or if you cannot be in Delhi for the full period you select.
Dates, duration, fee and pay
Portal window: 1 September to 31 October every year (this window is for November–January internships). Next window: 1 March to 30 April for June–August. Duration: 1, 2 or 3 months as selected on the form. Stipend: ₹10,000 per month, processed only after completion and satisfactory confirmation. Application fee: none printed. Intake: not more than 20 interns at a time across divisions. Applications from this window are deleted after January.
Available positions
No category-wise vacancy table is printed. Divisions request interns from the compiled applications. The Establishment section takes approval of Director/Deputy Secretary (Establishment) and then sends the offer by official email. There is no public tracking page.
